U.S. Postage Stamps Used to Smuggle Drugs Into Prison

State and Carbon County law enforcement officials snuffed out a prison drug-smuggling Monday, charging 11 people in a scheme involving a drug hidden behind postage stamps.

Carbon County District Attorney Gary Dobias said the five-month investigation, dubbed "Operation Postage Stamp," uncovered an operation where thin strips of a narcotic used to treat heroin addiction were tucked under postage stamps on letters sent to prisoners.
