Baseball Legend Larry Doby to be Honored on Postage Stamp

Most Americans know that Jackie Robinson was the first black man to play Major League Baseball. Far fewer know that South Carolina native Larry Doby was the second. The latter group should grow thanks to a new U.S. postage "forever" stamp previewed Friday and due for release next summer.

On July 5, 1947, less than three months after Mr. Robinson broke the color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Mr. Doby . . .
