Canada Issues Stained Glass Christmas Stamps

NEW YORK — The Postal Service today issued two newly designed Forever stamps commemorating Hanukkah and Kwanzaa for mailing cards and letters during the upcoming holiday season.

2011 Christmas Holiday Forever Postage Stamps Issued

NEW YORK — It’s hard to believe, but Christmas is only 73 days away. To help get everyone in the spirit, the Postal Service today is kicking off the 2011 holiday season with the issuance of the new Christmas stamps.

New U. S. Postage Stamps Encourage Ride Sharing and Public Transportation

Mythical Creatures Postage Stamps Feature Australia's First 3D Minisheet

Australia Post continues the tradition of Stamp Collecting Month (SCM) throughout October with the release of the Mythical Creatures stamp issue. There are five domestic rate (60 cents) stamps and one domestic large letter rate ($1.20) stamp. This issue is available from 4 October 2011.

Royal Mail Celebrates 100 Years of Aerial Post

On 9 September, exactly 100 years since the UK’s first Aerial Post service took to the sky, Royal Mail issued a new set of stamps as a tribute to the pioneering aviators who made postal history.

Gustav Hamel’s 15 minute flight from Hendon Aerodrome to Windsor Castle on 9 September 1911 was the first of 16 aerial post flights to mark the coronation of King George V. These took place until 26 September 1911, during which time 130,000 specially designed souvenir postcards and envelopes were delivered. The flights are recognised as the world’s first scheduled airmail service.
