Irish Stamps Celebrate 2012 London Olympics

Royal Mail to Issue "Next Day" Gold Medalist Postage Stamps

Royal Mail is unveiling the process of how it is going to get its London 2012 Gold Medal stamps on sale the day after each Team GB gold medal win in over 500 Post Offices across the UK.

This journey – from gold medal winning moment to consumer – will see a team of over one hundred staff working against the clock to ensure the stamps are available for customers to buy within 24 hours.

Postage Stamps Mark Start of

Malta Post Issues London Olympics Postage Stamps

On 27 July, MaltaPost will issue a set of two stamps commemorating the 2012 London Olympic Games. The stamps, valued at €0.37 and €2.11, depict the 2012 Olympic Games logo and Wenlock, one of the Games’ mascots.

“The Philatelic Bureau of MaltaPost chose to reflect the magnitude of the upcoming Olympics – the biggest sporting event in the world,” explains Joseph Gafá, CEO at MaltaPost plc.

“With 26 sports in play, 10,500 athletes taking part and millions of spectators watching the action, the 2012 Games are set to be one of the largest ever. Farming Celebrated on New Postage Stamps
