Hong Kong Stamps Honor the Red Cross

First Day of Issue: February 28, 2013 - Hong Kong

Hong Kong has issued a set of four new postage stamps celebrating the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross.

The Red Cross was born at the initiative of one man, Henry Dunant. He helped injured soldiers at the Battle of Solferino in 1859, and then encouraged political leaders to take greater measures to protect war victims.
